Invitation – PhD Defence (Hybrid format) of Allwin Mabes Raj on July 10 at 15:00

You are warmly invited to attend Allwin Mabes Raj’s PhD defense, which will take place on Thursday, July 10th at 3:00 p.m., organized by the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School.

Thesis title:
“Nanoengineering for Enhanced Toxic Metals Adsorption: From Synthesis to Biorecognition”

Short abstract:
This thesis presents innovative nanomaterials and nano-biosensors for the detection and removal of toxic metals and monomethylmercury (MeHg). Functionalized nanoparticles efficiently adsorbed Pb²⁺, Cr³⁺, Hg²⁺, and rare earth elements, enabling water remediation and resource recovery. An enzyme-based electrochemical biosensor achieved ultrasensitive detection with high selectivity..

The defense will be a hybrid event. You are warmly welcome to join us in person.
